Liz Lawley is a professor in the Interactive Games & Media department at RIT in Rochester, NY, where she also founded and serve as director for the Lab for Social Computing in the MAGIC (Media, Art, Games, Interaction, and Creativity) Center.
Before becoming a professor of games and media, Liz earned an MLS from the University of Michigan, and a PhD in Information & Library Studies at the University of Alabama. She has spoken on technology topics at a number of library technology conferences over the past 25 years.
Her current teaching and research interests focus on social computing technologies (including collaborative information creation and retrieval), social aspects of game design and play, and use of generative AI for content creation.
